Future (planned) Improvements:
Well, as you can see, Graph-Me! is far from being perfect.
Just like any other self-respecting programmer, I have a list of
improvements I will be adding on to it as soon as I find the
time. Why put it out without all these improvements, you ask?
Because if I waited until I could think of nothing more to put on
it it would be well into the next century by the time I actually
got it out, and then it would probably be almost useless.
FEATURES TO BE RE-ADDED:
Well, I switched the interface around a lot before actually
releasing Graph-Me!, which means that a lot of the features
I had had in the CLI are lacking in the point-and-click.
Calculator Mode. Just never got around to putting this back
in. I found it very usefull, though, and so it will be back
in the first minor upgrade (1.1).
Tick-Mark adjusting. Okay, this one's kinda big. What good
are tick-marks if they always are two units between them?
FEATURES TO BE ADDED:
(along the same lines) Tick Marks for modes other than
Box-3D and Rec-2D.
Color selection. Right now this is really dumb; if you run
in 16-colors, the axis are red, blue, and yellow; if you run
in less, the axis are always the highest color available. I
plan to create a color-selection screen, as well as a color-
palette adjustment utility for the VGA-ers out there. Sorry
that Graph-Me! is only 16-colors, but maybe if I get a large
enough response I will expand it to 256 and beyond.
Gif- and Mtx-saving algorithm (Mtx is a proprietary format I
am developing for Graph-Me!, which holds a 3D wireframe). I
have to admit that all those wonderful graphs are kinda
useless unless you can pull them from screen to hard-disk.
The way to do that now is to install a screen-grabber or to
initialize Graphics.COM (for printout). This improvement
may take a while, so expect it around 1.2 or 1.3!
A way to save all your settings from one session to another.
The ability to show more than one graph on the screen at
once.
Improvements to lessen the ammount of required memory.
(in the far future ... probably not until 2.0 at least, or
until I get os/2 ... ) A 32-bit version to run on os/2 /
win NT / etc ...
Of course, all this is subject to change (no promises here,
guys!) depending on the time I have to spend on this and the
response I get from you guys. I hope to get around to adding all
this at the very least to this little program, as I have had a
great time getting it thus far. Of course, all this depends on
your support, and your opinions. Feed-back is very important
here (which is why I am including this list)!
